Well, today (moments ago) now it’s yesterday, was quite a day… a day we learned about our friend being pain-free and with the Lord!  The day was bittersweet with the knowledge and we languish, not for ourselves (though there is pain and sorrow realizing we won’t see him for quite some time) but for his family.  He will be greatly missed.

We tend to relish life by celebrating with food, glorious food; as well, we grieve oft the same way.  My daughter and I went walking tonight, however.  The air was chilled, the night was beginning to fall and we walked and talked, but not fast.  I was in pain, everywhere, and my foot was threatening to give out.  But we pressed on and now I sit, better feeling as my addiction was punched by a shot of Starbucks– you know it’s like Arnold Schw. squeezing a swollen plantar fascia, ouch!, and on the release “AHHH” it never felt so good!… The effect Charbucks or its counterparts have on me after going down the hatch… relief!  Plus my sinuses are in check.  I must say that I’m trying tons of new teas, though, and it is doing something for me.

I am weary of this ‘day’– it was a wonderfully lovely day, weather-wise and activity-wise… the kids, spouse, and myself had pleasures in the out-of-doors, but news of our friend’s passing brought a heaviness, not a helplessness, but a finality– although it is certain he rests in the Lord, and we most definitely rejoice that we will see him again.  It will just be awhile, and that is the very tough pill to swallow.  Swallowed with a hard lump in my throat.

We enjoyed the day as best we could, for we knew our friend’s moments were numbered, learning later that his moments here had ended hours before; the end had come and we were none the wiser, save perhaps in spirit…  Cakes had her face painted, we all rode in Model Ts, I relished a poem written by my adopted Grandma, read by her son, we enjoyed the waterfall and walking, a good Italian dinner, then another walk and talk with my daughter.  At the falls, Joe took a very “before” picture of me.  It was dreadful!  I will have to post it, to have a good laugh.  Believe me, there are worse ones in my photobox, but the mirror is friendlier to me than the lens, so I was surprised (and offended! haha.  Joe, how could you?!)

Eat your orange, I forgot to today, plus I have three ripe mangoes I have to work in; being careful of sugar, I may neglect the citrus for another day, but alterations is what this whole website is about!  Be well and join me in praising God for new life and the afterlife!  And one day, no pain, no tears… and a glorified body!  May God bless your today and your tomorrow.
